FORESTRY — WOOD ENCOURAGEMENT POLICY
1459. Hon STEVE MARTIN to the Minister for Forestry:
I refer to the wood encouragement
policy.
(1) Is the WEP in effect?
(2) What key KPIs, targets or other
metrics are used to measure the success or otherwise of the WEP?
(3) Can the minister please provide any of the measures in
(2) to demonstrate current progress?
(4) Can the minister please provide
some recent examples of the WEP in action?

of the question. The following answer has been provided by the Minister for
Forestry, who is out of the chamber on urgent parliamentary business.
(1)–(4) The
Forest Products Commission's wood encouragement policy is in effect.
The aim of the policy is to use responsibly sourced wood in construction and
building fit-out when it is fit for purpose, represents value for money and
complies with other policies, standards and regulations.
