MAIN ROADS WA — TOODYAY ROAD INTERSECTION
UPGRADE
1189. Hon ALANNA CLOHESY to the parliamentary
secretary representing the Minister for Transport:
I refer to question without notice
1083 asked on Tuesday, 11 October, regarding the Main Roads program of Toodyay
intersection works in 2016–17.
(1) Why has the planned
work on the intersection of Reen Road, Stoneville Road and Toodyay Road been
delayed from 2016–17 to commence one year later?
(2) Of the $8 million allocated in the budget, how
much is to be expended in 2016–17, 2017–18 and 2018–19?

AnswerView source ↗

On behalf of the parliamentary
secretary representing the Minister for Transport, I thank the honourable
member for some notice of the question. Main Roads Western Australia advises —
(1) Detailed
design plans of the adjacent intersections of Toodyay Road–Stoneville
Road and Toodyay Road–Reen Road identified that additional
modifications will be required to the westbound passing lane on Toodyay Road,
which commences near Stoneville Road. Main Roads plans to construct the two
intersections plus the passing lane in 2017–18.
(2) Anticipated expenditure for 2016–17
is nil; 2017–18, $8 million; and 2018–19, nil.
