representing the Attorney General:
I refer to the Auditor General's
performance audit, Public Trustee's Administration of Trusts and
Deceased Estates recommendations.
(1) How has the Public Trustee
implemented each recommendation?
(2) Has the
Department of Treasury provided advice to the Attorney General on new models of
funding that will ensure vulnerable Western Australians are not being charged
fees that exceed the actual work effort?
(3) If no to (2),
what is the Attorney General doing to address the issue raised by the Auditor
General of vulnerable Western Australians being charged fees that exceed actual
work effort?

some notice of the question. On behalf of the representative parliamentary
secretary, I provide the following answer on behalf of the Attorney General.
(1)–(3) Recommendations
1 and 2 of the Auditor General's report are impacted by the outcome of
the Department of Treasury's review
into the Public Trustee's fees and charges, funding model and
governance arrangements . The
government is awaiting the outcome of the Treasury review before implementing
recommendations 1 and 2. The
implementation of recommendation 3 is in progress. Recommendation 4 has been
implemented.
