OCEAN GARDENS RETIREMENT VILLAGE
I refer to the complaint against the City of Perth by the Town of Cambridge about Ocean Gardens Retirement Village Incorporated. This issue has previously been brought to the attention of the minister. Can the minister advise, for the benefit of the residents of Ocean Gardens, the current status of the situation? Hon TOM STEPHENS

AnswerView source ↗

Officers of the Department of Local Government and Regional Development have been left with the task of bringing the parties together to reach a resolution. If the issue cannot be resolved through the agreement of the parties, I will take the action recommended by the Ombudsman. This would require me to discuss the matter with my colleagues in Cabinet, to see whether they are prepared to accept that course of action. I am waiting to see whether the departmental officers, in their meetings with the various parties, including the board of Ocean Gardens, the Town of Cambridge and the City of Perth, can bring the matter to resolution.
