WELLINGTON DAM
I have a supplementary question. Will the minister now fast-track the Liberal Party’s plan for Wellington Dam so that this precious resource is not wasted in the future? Twenty gigalitres of water is flowing over the bank, at $1 a kilolitre. That is $20 million worth of water that the government is wasting. Mr J.C. KOBELKE

I thank the member for his supplementary question. I am not sure whether the Liberal Party’s plan for Wellington Dam is any further advanced than its plan to bring water from the Kimberley to Perth, which made the Liberal Party a laughing stock. Even the federal Minister for the Environment and Water Resources said it was a nonsense. When it comes to the Liberal Party’s plans for using the water from the Wellington Dam, it has made some back-of-the-envelope calculations. However, that is not a plan to actually use the water. We are planning to use the water and will put in place the necessary steps to enable us to utilise the water efficiently and effectively. Several members interjected. The DEPUTY SPEAKER : Order! I call the Leader of the Opposition and the member for Roe to order for the first time.
