FAMILY
AND DOMESTIC VIOLENCE OFFENDERS — GPS TRACKING
575. Ms L. METTAM to the Minister for Prevention of Family
and Domestic Violence:
I have a supplementary question. If the minister's
commitment to family and domestic violence is so clear, why can she not answer
basic questions about a trial that finished last year regarding violent
offenders?

AnswerView source ↗

I note that I have been the Minister
for Prevention of Family and Domestic Violence in this place for eight months.
Ms L. Mettam : The question
was asked yesterday.
The SPEAKER : Order, please!
Ms S.E. WINTON : Today is the
first time that the member has stood in this place to ask me a question on
this.
Ms L. Mettam : We asked
yesterday.
Ms S.E. WINTON : No, today is
the first time that the member has asked me a question on family and domestic
violence in this place. If I were a sceptic, I would be suspicious that the
member is trying to politicise —
Several members interjected.
The SPEAKER : Order, please!
Ms S.E. WINTON : — an issue
that requires a whole-of-government and whole-of-community response and a bipartisan
approach to deal with it.
