DAIRY INDUSTRY — ASSISTANCE
1337. Hon SALLY TALBOT to the Minister
for Agriculture and Food:
I refer to the minister's
recent advice to the Standing Committee on Estimates and Financial Operations
that the federal government would consider a proposal to provide assistance to
the dairy industry ''should one become available''.
(1) Is the minister going to present
a proposal to the federal government?
(2) If yes to (l) —
(a) what is the proposal;
(b) who put the proposal together;
(c) who was consulted about the
substance of the proposal;
(d) when will the proposal be
finalised and presented to the federal government;
(e) what is the cost of the proposal
to —
(i) the state government; and
(ii) the federal government; and
(f) when will assistance be
available?
(3) If no to (1), why not?

Western Australian government is still in discussions with the federal
government about assistance that may be available.
