(2) Two passing lanes will be constructed in 2006/07 on Brand Highway. These will be for northbound traffic and will be located near the Eneabba townsite and at Kailis Drive, approximately 12 km south of Dongara. These works will complement other recent improvements undertaken on Brand Highway including a new passing lane 15 km north of Dongara, which was completed in April 2006 at a cost of $1 million. In addition, 53 km of audible edge lines were completed between Dongara and Geraldton and a further 50 km of shoulder sealing and audible edge lining was completed between Eneabba and Dongara at a cost of $2 million. Other improvements being undertaken in 2005/06 include: · Brand Highway / McCartney Road intersection at a cost of $415 000; · Brand Highway/Midland Road intersection improvements at a cost of $185 000; · Brand Highway - extension of the passing lane 5 km east of Dongara near Pell Bridge at a cost of $0.5 million.
