The funding was used to refurbish existing WACHS Mental Health infrastructure in Albany and Broome to expand existing services, and allow for the establishment of new services.
Refurbishments in Albany made way for the establishment of the Acute Care Response Team (ACRT) through the Infant, Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service - fulfilling a key election commitment.
An additional over 40 young people were supported in the Great Southern between February, when services commenced, and July 2025.
In Broome, upgrades were made to the existing Infant, Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service, which supported over 65 young people between August 2024 and July 2025.
A Needle Syringe and Exchange Program facility for adults was also established in Broome, which recorded over 2400 service interactions between January, when the program commenced, and July 2025.
