In relation to infringements and cautions issued during the 2009–2010 peak boating season, I ask the Minister:
(a) since the start of the 2009–2010 peak boating season, how many infringement notices have been issued to boats, jet-skis and skiers;
(b) of these infringements, what were the reasons that they were issued;
(c) how many of these infringements have been paid;
(d) since the start of the 2009–2010 peak boating season, how many cautions have been issued to boats, jet-skis and skiers; and
(e) of these cautions, what were the reasons they were issued?

(a) Between the period 1 November 2009 and 28 February 2010, a total of 898 infringements were issued throughout the State.
(b) Of the 898 infringements issued throughout the State between 1 November 2009 and 28 February 2010 -
199 were related to the Recreational Skippers Ticket.
180 were related to vessel registration.
182 were related to safety equipment.
187 were related to speeding.
66 were related to skiing.
84 were related to other offences.
(c) Determining how many of the 898 infringements issued between 1 November 2009 and 28 February 2010 throughout the State have been paid would require a search on each individual infringements. This is not possible in the time provided with current resources.
(d) Between the period 1 November 2009 and 28 February 2010, a total of 694 cautions were issued throughout the State.
(e) Of the 694 cautions issued throughout the State between 1 November 2009 and 28 February 2010 -
29 were related to the Recreational Skippers Ticket.
70 were related to vessel registration.
97 were related to safety equipment.
351 were related to speeding.
58 were related to skiing.
89 were related to other offences.
