CITY OF BELMONT–SHIRE OF KALAMUNDA —
MERGER
102. Hon SAMANTHA ROWE to the
minister representing the Minister for Local Government:
I refer to the intended merger of the City of Belmont and the
Shire of Kalamunda.
(1) Can the government advise the total estimated cost of the
merger; and, if not, why not?
(2) When will the government be in a position to advise of
the estimated cost?

AnswerView source ↗

I thank the member for some notice
of the question.
(1) The cost of
the metropolitan mergers is dependent upon the model that is recommended by the
Local Government Advisory Board and approved by the minister.
(2) The cost will
depend on the determination of the new structures and how they are implemented
by new local governments.
