I refer to the Law Reform CommissionXXX ###XXXs
inquiry into compensation regimes for persons suffering from asbestos-related
diseases.
(1) What external parties have been engaged to assist the commission
with the inquiry?
(2) What is the value of each external contract?
(3) What was the procurement process for each of the contracts?
(4) Why has the Law Reform Commission had to
employ external services to assist in conducting the inquiry?
(5) What is the
total cost of the inquiry to date?
(6) From where has

(1) Marsden Jacob Associates Pty
Ltd.
(2) $256 960, GST inclusive.
(3) State government tender process.
(4) I have been
advised by the Law Reform Commission of Western Australia that it chose to
engage an external contractor due to the legal complexity of the reference.
(5) $25 696.
(6) The commission is now funded by the
Department of the Attorney General. However, money was left from the Law Reform
Commission WA funds. This money was used to fund the inquiry.
