I refer the Minister to page 16 of the
Kalgoorlie/Boulder Report on Alcohol-related Harm and Disorder presented by WA Police Report to the Director of Liquor Licensing
, dated May 2012, and ask —
(1) Of the 246 times when residents were hospitalised in 2010 for conditions related to alcohol, how many were admitted more than once?
(2) How many of the 897 bed days referred to in the report were taken up by people who were admitted more than once?
(3) Of the 336 client episodes referred to on page 4 where alcohol was the primary drug of concern —
(a) how many attended more than once; and
(b) how many clients who were seeking or required to engage in counselling and treatment attended more than once?
(4) Are statistics kept that show a breakdown of numbers into Aboriginal and Torres Strait Island patients and others?
(5) If yes to (4), by category of condition, how many of the patients referred to in that table are of Aboriginal and Torres Strait descent?

(1) The alcohol-related hospitalisation data in question does not allow analysis of how many residents were admitted more than once.
(2) The alcohol-related bed-days data does not allow analysis of how many of the bed-days were taken up by people who were admitted more than once.
(3) Between January 2009 and September 2011, of the 336 client episodes where alcohol was the primary drug of concern:
(a) and (b) 16 were repeat episodes.
(4) Yes, though for hospitalisations, the data is only available to present for a 10 year period because the numbers for some conditions for a smaller period are low enough to be potentially identifying.
