Mr Speaker, for the
year ending 31 October, in the Kimberley—these are the most up-to-date
statistics and are more recent than the public crime stats—stealing
offences are down on the five-year average. Stealing motor vehicle offences are
down on the five-year average; right across the state, these are down by 46% compared
with 2016. Burglary offences are down on the five-year average; across the
state, these are down 64% compared with 2016. Total offences against property
are down by over 10% on the five-year average. We are seeing good results in
relation to the community safety issues in the community. I am very proud of
the work of not only the police but also our community services.
Mr Lachlan Hunter interjected.

The Speaker: Member for Central Wheatbelt, an
unnecessary interjection.
Mr Roger Cook: I am very proud of the work that the police
are doing right across our state, but also in difficult circumstances and
remote areas such as the Kimberley, and of course the community organisations
that work tirelessly to continue to provide the services we need so that we can
keep members of that community safe. That work will continue.
The Speaker: That concludes question time.
