I refer to the answer given yesterday to my question without notice. Why does the application of the Jurisdiction of Courts (Cross-Vesting) Act 1987 not have effect in respect of the Courts (Foreign Land) Act 1989 of New South Wales? Hon NICK GRIFFITHS

I thank the member for some notice of this question. I read the question earlier today and an answer was provided. Although the answer is appropriate I do not believe it gives the member the information he is seeking. I have referred the matter to the office of the Attorney General so that a firmer answer can be given. The advice given to me is that the person who has his mind around the issue is currently out of the State. I will let the member know when I have the answer. It may be later this week or when we next get together.
