(1) I refer to the Government’s decision to re-route the Southern suburbs railway through South Perth-Como and Salter Point and ask did the Government go to the people in February with a commitment to the notions of openness, transparency in decision-making and community consultation?
(2) If so, why did the Government fail to apply those principles in the case of the decision relating to the re-routing of the railway?
(3) Is it correct that the Minister summoned representatives of the South Perth City Council for a briefing three hours before the announcement?
(4) Does the Premier accept that this appears to make a mockery of the principles of openness and consultation when such a major decision can be made in secret, without regard to its impact on the community that it will most adversely affect?
