(a) The Heathcote Hospital site was included on the Register on an interim basis on 25 June 1993. The registered curtilage includes the lower land. The heritage assessment for the site was derived from the Conservation Plan (Hocking Planning and Architecture Pty Ltd, 1994) however the Conservation Plan did not focus strongly on the lower land. The Heritage Council has previously advised the Department of Housing and Works that a heritage assessment of the lower land would be required prior to consideration of any options for its future use. The Heritage Council has not been advised that a heritage assessment for the lower land has yet been completed.
