TAB —
PRIVATISATION
600. Mr M.P. MURRAY to the Premier:
I ask a supplementary question.
Having heard that answer, is the Premier prepared to now listen to the industry
concerns about privatisation as well as his Liberal and National colleagues'
advice not to sell, or is he prepared to risk adding the privatisation of the
WA TAB to his list of mistakes when he leaves office?

AnswerView source ↗

I am not leaving office for a long,
long time.
Several members interjected.
The
SPEAKER : Members!
Mr
C.J. BARNETT : The minister responsible talks to the industry. I have not
spoken directly to people in the industry but I will. If this government
decides to privatise the TAB, it will be only after a full and extensive period
of consultation with the industry.
