I thank the honourable member for
some notice of the question. The following answer has been provided by the
Minister for Health.
The
number of elective surgery waitlist cancellations—deferrals and
reschedules—in November 2021 in metropolitan public hospitals was 1 137, with an additional 381
cancelled due to patient-initiated reasons. In regional public hospitals, there
were 483 elective surgery waitlist cancellations, with an additional 215
cancelled due to patient-initiated reasons.
