I refer to the Income Eligibility Limits for Homeswest housing, and ask:
(a) when were the income eligibility limits last reviewed and altered;
(b) will the Minister agree that the income eligibility limits have not kept pace with rises in the Consumer Price Index and associated rises in incomes; and
(i) if not, why not;
(c) will the Minister agree to review the income eligibility limits for access to public housing rental; and
(i) if not, why not;
(d) if the Minister will agree to such a review, when will it be commenced?

The Department of Housing advises:
(a - d) Eligibility limits for public housing are set to ensure assistance is provided to those in greatest need and were last adjusted in May 2006.
Simply reviewing income eligibility limits for public housing will not address the affordable housing needs of low income Western Australians. Diversifying and increasing the supply of affordable housing will more effectively address the challenges faced by those who fall outside public housing eligibility and is the key focus of the State Government.
The Department will continue to monitor income eligibility limits in the context of the broader affordable housing environment.
