(1-2) Since the election, 2 reviews within my portfolio areas have taken place as a result of a decision by me or by the Government. These are the Racing Industry Review and the Review of Statutory Authorities that arose out of the recommendations of the Machinery of Government Taskforce. I note that the Honourable Member's question does not confine itself to reviews initiated by either the Government or me. I therefore referred the Honourable Member's question to agencies within my portfolio for their response. The only agency to identify the existence of a review, committee, inquiry or taskforce other than the Racing Industry Review and the Statutory Authorities Review was the Lotteries Commission, which has advised me that:
"Since the election, the Lotteries Commission has undertaken several routine funding policy reviews, which have been part of normal business practice for a number of years. No other committees, inquiries, taskforces have been established."
(3) The Racing Industry Review commenced during the life of the previous Government. I received the Report on 31 October 2001.
The Statutory Authorities Review was initiated by a decision of the Cabinet on 18 June 2001. A target date of 1 July 2002 has been established for the completion of this review.
