Designated area migration agreements
1125. Hon Dr Steve Thomas to the Leader of the House
representing the Minister for Skills and TAFE:
I refer to my
questions without notice 557 and 631 of 19 and 21 August 2025 on the Western
Australian Designated Area Migration Agreement and the four regional Western
Australian DAMAs.
(1) Have the four regional DAMAs now been
cancelled and, if so, when were they cancelled?
(2) When was the
government first notified by the federal government that the regional DAMAs
were to be cancelled and replaced by the statewide DAMA?
(3) Did the state government attempt to retain any
or all of the four regional DAMAs is any way and, if so, how?
(4) Since the closure of the four regional DAMAs,
how many employment places were delivered under the Western Australian DAMA in
Perth and how many were delivered under the Western Australian DAMA in the
regions previously covered by the four regional DAMAs?
(5) How will the state government ensure that the
statewide DAMA will focus on the regions?
