I thank the member for some notice of this question. The Office of Road Safety has advised that a total of $2 756 383 has been allocated from the road trauma trust fund since 1997-98 to enable the establishment and ongoing work of the neuro-trauma research program. It is not possible to pre-empt future funding amounts until business planning for out years has been completed. However, the government remains committed to this important work and will continue to work through business planning processes with the neuro-trauma research program to identify and source appropriate budgets for this program of research as it develops over time.
