Was a report completed and presented to the Treasurer of the day with respect to a National Competition Policy review of the legal profession?
(2)
If so, who completed the report and when was it received by the department?
(3)
Did the report contain any consideration of the role of the legal profession in the
Motor Vehicle (Third Party Insurance) Act 1943
(“the Act”)?
(4)
Will any amendments
to the Act be made on the basis of this report?
(5)
Has the Treasurer or the department received any requests from the Law Society to have access to -
(a)
the whole report; or
(b)
only the part of the report that deals with the role of the legal profession in third party motor vehicle insurance claims?
(6)
If so, has a copy of the requested information been provided?
(7)
If each request was refused, why was it refused?
(8)
Will the Treasurer table a copy of the whole report or just the part of the report dealing with the role of the legal profession in third party motor vehicle claims?
