CORRECTIVE
SERVICES — PRISON OFFICERS' ENTERPRISE BARGAINING AGREEMENT
325. Hon
AMBER-JADE SANDERSON to the Attorney General representing the Minister
for Corrective Services:
(1) Have
consultants been engaged by the Department of Corrective Services to negotiate
prison officers' enterprise bargaining agreement?
(2) If so, what has been the cost of these consultants?

AnswerView source ↗

I thank the honourable member for
some notice of the question, which I answer on behalf of the Minister for
Corrective Services.
(1) Consultants
have been engaged to assist with the development of the prison officers'
enterprise bargaining agreement. The consultants were tasked with the
consolidation and simplification of the lengthy and highly complex existing
agreements that contain outdated terms and practices and are not current with
prevailing industrial relations arrangements and operational practices. A
single simplified document will lessen the risk of industrial disputation and
will improve the morale and productivity of staff by making employee
entitlements clearer.
(2) Information
relating to the engagement of consultants is contained within the tabled and
published ''Report on Consultants Engaged by Government'',
provided twice every year.
