Section 194 of the Biosecurity and Agriculture Management Act 2007 requires a review of the operation and effectiveness of the Act as soon as practicable after every 10 th anniversary of its commencement. Section 194 was promulgated in 2013 and therefore a review is required as soon as practicable after 2023.
The review of the Act was scheduled to commence in the second quarter of 2020, this will understandably need to be reviewed in light of the government’s focus on responding to the COVID-19 pandemic.
