I refer to the Attorney General Regulations Amendment (Fees) Regulations 2024 , and I ask: (a) what was the catalyst for bringing about these amendments to the regulations; (b) who was consulted prior to these amendment regulations being finalised; (c) did any person consulted raise any concerns; (d) if yes to (c), what were these concerns; (e) in reference to (d), have the finalised amendment regulations addressed these concerns; and (f) if no to (e), why not?

(a) To provide clarity and parity for all parties in Family Violence Restraining Order proceedings and improve trauma-informed practices for victim-survivors of family violence in the justice system.
(b) The Chief Magistrate, the President of the Children’s Court and the Deputy President of the Children’s Court were all consulted and supportive of the amendments. Executive Management in the Magistrates Court and Specialist Jurisdictions directorate within the Court and Tribunal Services division of the Department of Justice were also consulted throughout the entirety of the amendment process.
