secretary representing the Minister for Transport:
I refer to the WA
best practice industry conditions (WA BPIC) being trialled on the Tonkin
Highway extension and Thomas Road upgrade projects.
(1) Have any contractors on
the project raised concerns about any specific aspect of WA BPIC conditions
during the trial?
(2) If yes, what were the concerns and what was
the minister's response?
(3) How will the government judge the success or
otherwise of the trial?
(4) What share of the total expenditure on the
project is on wages costs:
(a) as a percentage of total cost; and,
(b) as a dollar figure?
(5) Can the Treasurer guarantee that any cost
escalations announced at the upcoming budget will not be due to the WA BPIC?
