1) Development of the Quality Framework into an accreditation system (the Culturally Secure Accreditation Framework - CSAF) commenced in 2010. Drafting of the CSAF is now complete and the draft CSAF, comprising the accreditation standards and interpretive guide, is due to be piloted in late 2011 with eight alcohol and other drug services in Western Australia and 7 alcohol and other drug services in other jurisdictions. Broader implementation of the CSAF is expected following the pilot phase.
2) Yes. There has been extensive consultation on the Culturally Secure Accreditation Framework.
3) Those consulted include the WA Network of Alcohol and Other Drug Agencies including a call for public comment via their website in early 2011, numerous Western Australian alcohol and other drug treatment services; the Drug and Alcohol Office; the Australian Government Department of Health and Ageing; the Australasian Therapeutic Communities Association; the Alcohol and Drug Council of Australia; the Aboriginal Health Council of Western Australia; and the National Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organisation.
4) Nil. The consultation phase concluded prior to 30 June 2011.
