(a-b) Please refer to Legislative Assembly Question on notice number 169.
Department of Water
(c) The dollar expenditure associated with recruitment represents the costs associated with a variety of recruitment methods, in particular the placing of job advertisements in local and state press and other media. Staff recruitment advertising is the largest part of recruitment expenditure but there are other indirect costs such as external Human Resource consultancy which contribute to the overall recruitment expenditure for the department.
A review of funds indicates that the 2008/09 staff recruitment advertising budget is $153k. It is not practical to split this budget between metropolitan and regional WA unless further analysis is undertaken, therefore the total value of funds expected to be spent in regional WA in the forward estimates period is also unknown at this stage.
Water Corporation
(c) Information is not available and is dependent on turnover and vacancy rates.
Drug and Alcohol Office response:
(c) Total recruitment expenditure is not identified as a specific budget item. Expenditure on external agency recruitment costs is not material.
