LIVE EXPORT —
SHEEP INDUSTRY
1426. Hon BEN DAWKINS to the Minister for Agriculture and
Food:
My question without notice of which
none has been given is to the Minister for Agriculture and Food.
I
refer to a statement made by Hon David Littleproud at the national agriculture
Keep the Sheep rally when I was in Canberra
recently, when he said that when he is the agriculture minister under a federal
Dutton coalition government, the first legislation he will introduce
will be to reverse the ban on live sheep exports. I also refer to the minister's
previous statements in this house that she does not support the ban on live
sheep exports.
I ask the minister: will the
minister return to her Nationals roots and actively campaign for a Liberal–National
government at the next federal election?
Several members interjected.
The PRESIDENT : Member,
several components of that question could be considered to be out of order in
that you are seeking the minister's views about her personal voting
preferences. Questions need to be about matters of public affairs. However, I will
give the minister the opportunity to respond to those parts of the question
that are within the standing orders.
