I refer to the reference in the Administrator's speech to the effect that "well over 200 000 workplace agreements have been registered to date, providing Western Australians with more flexibility and improved pay and conditions" and ask -
(1) How many of these workplace agreements were registered in -
(a) 1995;
(b) 1996;
(c) 1997;
(d) 1998;
(e) 1999; and
(f) 2000 year to date?
(2) How many of the 200 000 workplace agreements referred to in the Administrator's speech are current?
(3) What percentage of Western Australian workforce is covered by State Workplace Agreements?
(4) How many public sector employees are currently employed under workplace agreements?
(5) What percentage of the public sector workforce does this represent?

(2-3) The Administrator referred to well over 200,000 workplace agreements being registered to date. The actual number of agreements registered to July 2000 is 262,212. Employees move between employers and employment instruments and it is not possible to provide information on the number of employees covered by any employment instrument, be it workplace agreements, awards, industrial agreements or common law arrangements.
(4) As an employer, the Government has data on the number of employees working under workplace agreements. As at 30 April 2000, 23 600 public sector employees were covered by State workplace agreements (rounded to nearest 100).
(5) This represents 22% of the Western Australian public service workforce. (Western Australian public service workforce does not include Western Power, Water Corporation, AlintaGas, or the Ports.)
