(a) Five; The Department for Child Protection and Family Support (the Department) funds the community sector to provide residential care services in the South West, known as Family Group Home services.
The Department provides funding to community sector organisations to provide high needs and disability support residential care services. Five community sector organisations provide residential care services in the South West region.
The Department is currently in the process to procure General Foster Care services in the South West region. The estimated commencement date of this contract is 1 April 2015.
(b) Agencies for South West Accommodation (trading as Accordwest) operate the two Family Group Homes located in the South West region.
The following organisations provide residential care services in the South West for children in the care of the CEO with high needs or disabilities:
• Agencies for South West Accommodation (trading as Accordwest);
• Community Living Association;
• Enable South West;
• Life Without Barriers; and
• Safe Places Community Services.
The Department will be able to announce the successful Respondent in the procurement process for General Foster Care services in the South West region once the process has been finalised.
(c) In 2014-15, the Department provides funding of $910,526 for the provision of the two family Group Homes located in the South West region.
Accordwest, Community Living Association, Enable South West, Life Without Barriers and Safe Places Community Services are funded through individualised contracts to provide high needs or disability support residential care services. The costs associated with these contracts can vary depending on individual children's needs and are reviewed regularly to ensure appropriate placement and support costs are provided. There is no annual recurrent funding level to quote for these residential care services in the South West region as the funding amount changes frequently.
