500 CLUB
FUNCTION — PREMIER'S OFFICE — HALE HOUSE
147. Mr M. McGOWAN to the Premier:
I have a supplementary question. Does the Premier honestly
expect anyone to believe that the use of his office for free by the 500 Club at
a cost of $100 a ticket, attended by 300 people, did not generate a single cent
in profit?

It was an upmarket event. I do not
deny that for a moment.
Mr
M. McGowan : Oh, come one!
Mr
C.J. BARNETT : I do not know when the Leader of the Opposition last
organised an event, but it is very easy to organise a cocktail event. A
high-quality cocktail event will typically run in the range of about $80 to
$120 a person.
Several members interjected.
The
SPEAKER : That question is finished. Member for Kingsley.
Several members interjected.
The SPEAKER :
Premier, I call you to order for the first time. Leader of the Opposition, I
call you to order for the first time.
