Family and domestic violence—Coercive control—Training
763. Hon Michelle Boylan to the minister
representing the Minister for Prevention of Family and Domestic Violence:
I refer to the
announcement made on January of $2 million for family and domestic violence
training for police officers, legal professionals, court staff and custodial
officers to support system readiness for criminalising coercive control.
(1) What is the breakdown of funds to each group
identified in the announcement?
(2) Is the training for justice and legal staff
tailored to Western Australia or is it from an American model?
(3) For WA Police, what proportion of the training
involves experimental drama-based training?

been provided by the Minister for Prevention of Family and Domestic Violence. I
will just say that in question (3), I think the member meant to say "experiential"
drama-based training rather than "experimental", but we are on the
same page.
