Some notice of this question was
given on 22 February.
(1) As at 22
February 2023, what is the current volume of spoil extracted from the Forrestfield–Airport
Link project and stockpiled at 777 Abernethy Road, Forrestfield?
(2) As at that
date, what volume of stockpiled FAL spoil had been utilised on the Great
Eastern Highway bypass project commenced in November 2022?
(3) What
government or private contractor is responsible for the transport of the spoil
from Forrestfield to the Great Eastern Highway project?
(4) What occupational health and safety protocols and
protective regimes and governmental monitoring oversight have been
applied to the transport of the spoil from Forrestfield to the Great Eastern
Highway project?

I thank the honourable member for
some notice of the question.
(1) It is approximately 564 000
cubic metres.
(2) Approximately 36 000 cubic
metres had been utilised.
(3) It is Main
Roads WA's main works contractor for the Great Eastern Highway bypass
interchanges project.
(4) Given the low
levels of PFAS in the soil, standard construction occupational health and
safety protocols are being applied. As previously stated, the concentrations of
PFAS in the soil are below the human health and ecological assessment criteria
in the national environmental management plan.
