FUNDING CUTS — PREMIER'S COMMENTS
73. Mr M. McGOWAN to the
Premier:
I ask a supplementary question. In light of the Premier's
disgraceful remarks, and the Premier's refusal to apologise —
Several members interjected.
The
SPEAKER : Members!
Mr M. McGOWAN : I
will start again. In light of the Premier's disgraceful remarks, and
the Premier's refusal to apologise, why does the Premier not take the
advice of the member for Hillarys and resign?

Mr Speaker —
Several members interjected.
The
SPEAKER : Members, I want to hear the answer to the question, not get
answers from the same side as the one that asked the question.
Mr C.J. BARNETT :
One would think the Labor Party could come up with a decent question at the
start of question time. The Labor Party has been unable to do that for two
weeks.
This is some sort of sanitising and political correctness—too
afraid to express a view or use a colourful term. I am sorry. I am not that
sort of person.
Mr
M. McGowan interjected.
The
SPEAKER : Leader of the Opposition, I call you to order for the second time.
Mr
C.J. BARNETT : So my response to the Leader of the Opposition's
supplementary is: lighten up Manhattan.
Several members interjected.
