(a) The Chairman of the Western Australian Tourism Commission (WATC) is frequently required to represent the WATC within Australia and at times internationally. It is therefore appropriate that expenditure incurred by the Chairperson on such occasions be met by the WATC. For in excess of the last 10 years it has been the practice of the WATC to issue a Government supplied credit card to the Chairperson for official purposes.
(b) WATC has an appropriate policy in place on use of corporate credit cards. This policy now includes acceptance of the conditions of use by the card holder and is consistent with the best practice guidelines issued by the former Department of Industry and Technology.
