ADOPTIONS - INTER-COUNTRY
(1) Can the minister confirm that it is now taking longer to finalise inter-country adoptions and advise of the following waiting times - (a) for the allocation of Department for Community Development adoption assessors in 2003, 2004, 2005, the first half of 2006 and the estimate for the second half of 2006; and (b) for the finalisation of inter-country adoptions in 2003, 2004, 2005, the first half of 2006 and the estimate for the second half of 2006? (2) If there has been a notable increase in waiting times, can the minister explain the possible reasons and what can be done to reverse the situation? (3) Can the minister advise members of the number of inter-country adoptions in Western Australia in 2003, 2004, 2005, the first half of 2006 and the estimate for the second half of 2006?
