I refer to the preferred tenderer’s design for the proposed convention centre. (1) Is the minister satisfied that the proposed design will be adequate to allow the pantechnicon trucks that will be required for exhibitions and performances to enter and exit the road network? (2) Was the minister consulted about the effects of the proposed convention centre on the road network, and, in particular, this issue? (3) Can the minister guarantee that the use of pantechnicon trucks will not impact adversely on the surrounding road network? Hon M.J. CRIDDLE

(1)-(3) Some modifications to the existing freeway off-ramps will be required. The cost of those modifications will be met by the consortium. I am not aware of any other costs that have been identified. However, in that area we have the Perth access plan, which is quite apart from this development in the Perth area.
