I refer to the ongoing rollout of
the banned drinkers register and takeaway alcohol management system program.
(1) Will the most
recent expansion also include Exmouth, Geraldton, Meekatharra, Wiluna and
Warburton?
(2) What is the
exact geographical area being proposed by the government and the anticipated costs
for —
(a) the BDR expansion; and
(b) the TAMS expansion?
(3) How will the
government protect against individuals gaming the system, noting that the
restrictions will not be able to be enforced with no technology or TAMS
machines in place?

some notice of the question. On behalf of the Minister for Racing and Gaming, I
provide the following answer.
(1) The most
recent expansion will not include Exmouth, Geraldton, Meekatharra, Wiluna and
Warburton.
(2) The BDR,
banned drinkers register, and TAMS, takeaway alcohol management system,
expansion will be rolled out in packaged liquor outlets in Carnarvon and
Gascoyne Junction. The cost for the first year of this expansion is $565 000.
(3) The licensees
have until 5 April 2023 to provide comment on proposed restrictions before a final
decision is determined. The BDR and TAMS machines will be in place in Carnarvon
and Gascoyne Junction from May 2023.
