I refer to the inspections carried out by the Inspector of Custodial Services that were referred to in his annual report, which was tabled in the House this year. (1) How many drafts reports have been prepared and - (a) about which prisons were they prepared; (b) when was a copy of each draft given to - (i) the minister; and (ii) the Department of Justice pursuant to section 109I(4)(b) of the Prisons Act 1981; and (c) when did each person to whom such a draft had been given respond? Of the inspections referred to in the annual report of the Inspector of Custodial Services, the following reports were tabled during 2002: “Report of an Unannounced Inspection of Eastern Goldfields Regional Prison August 2001; “Report of a Follow-up Inspection of the Special Management Units at Casuarina Prison October 2001”; “Report of an Announced Inspection of Nyandi Prison February 2002”; “Report of the Follow-up Inspection of Eastern Goldfields Regional Prison February 2002”; “Report of an Announced Inspection of Adult Prisoner Transport Services”; and “Report of an Announced Inspection of Metropolitan Court Custody Centres November 2001”. The tabling dates are provided in the written copy of the answer. (1) Two draft reports have been prepared, and they are about Casuarina and Hakea Prisons.
