I refer to the Minister’s media statement of 23 August 2011 in which the Minister states that the State Government’s leased agreements are spread across 96 buildings which are now being consolidated into about 15 properties, and I ask:
(a) of the 96 buildings of which the Minister refers, how many were fully or partially vacant as at 1 September 2011;
(b) what is the area in square metres that was vacant for each fully or partially vacant building as at 1 September 2011;
(c) what is the name of the building and the physical address of each of the buildings in which there was vacant office space as at 1 September 2011;
(d) what is the name of the agency or agencies which vacated the office space outlined in (c);
(e) as at 1 September 2011, what amount was being paid for vacant office space in each of the fully or partially vacant buildings outlined above;
(f) for what period of time has the State Government been paying rent on vacant space in each of the fully or partially vacant buildings outlined in (a);
(g) how much in total has been paid in rent on vacant space in each of the fully or partially vacant buildings outlined above; and
(h) what is the name of the building and the physical address of the about 15 properties mentioned in the Minister’s media statement?

The information provided relates to government office accommodation managed by the Department of Finance's Building Management and Works.
In addition to the listed leased vacant space above, as at 1 September 2011 there was approximately 15,614 square meters of unoccupied leased office space located at 140 William Street, Perth and 441 Murray Street, Perth. This space was then undergoing refurbishment/fit out.
Furthermore as at 1 September 2011, 1215 square meters of Government owned office space was vacant, and 21002 square meters of Government office space was unoccupied and undergoing refurbishment / fitout. This included space at Dumas House and Albert Facey House.
(h) Over time the objective of Government office accommodation Master Planning is to work towards the consolidation of Government office accommodation across the Perth CBD and CBD fringe into 15-20 buildings. Therefore, this is currently in progress and a definitive list is not yet available.
