I thank the honourable member for
some notice of the question. The following information has been provided to me
by the Minister for Police.
The Western Australia Police Force
advises that a comprehensive communications plan for the Western Australia
police redress scheme is being implemented, including: a dedicated WA police
redress website containing comprehensive information for applicants; a comprehensive
and ongoing social media strategy, feeding into a word-of-mouth network; information sessions and application support by
the Medically Retired Western Australian Police Officers Association; during
radio segments by present and former Commissioners of Police; public notices
scheduled for local and national newspapers; and ministerial media statements.
The Medically Retired Western Australian Police Officers Association and the Western
Australian Police Union are also promoting the scheme through their networks.
The Western Australia Police Force is promoting the scheme through internal networks,
including information in internal newsletters and information on the WA Police
Force public website.
