(a)-(i) In the periods 1 January to 30 June 2016, 1 July to 30 December 2016, and 1 January to 30 June 2017, on Leach Highway between Kwinana Freeway and High Street, there were no fatalities or critical injuries. Between 1 January and 30 June there was one crash with two road user types involved in crashes, with one being a motor vehicle occupant, and the other a bicyclist. Fatigue was a factor, and the crash occurred in an intersection. Between 1 July to 30 December 2016 there were two road user types involved in a crash, with one being a motor vehicle occupant and the other a motorcyclist, with the cause of the crash unrelated to the categories provided for within this question. This crash did not occur in an intersection, nor was it related to a run-off road incident, nor a head-on crash. There were no crashes recorded by the WA Police Force between 1 January 2017 and 30 June 2017. The crash between the automobile and the bicyclist in the period 1 January to 30 June 2016 was recorded as ‘other/unknown’, and the crash between the motor car and the motorbike in the period 1 July to 30 December 2016 was recorded as a right angle. There were no single vehicle crashes recorded by WA Police Force at any point in the specified period.
Statistics are provisional and subject to revision. Data related to fatalities or serious injuries includes incidents which do not occur on private property or on a public road that has been temporarily closed, have at least one moving vehicle involved, do not involve deliberate intent, and result in at least one fatality or serious injury to a road user. The crashes reported on above do not meet the definition of a fatal or serious road crash but were recorded in the WA Police Traffic Enforcement and Crash Executive Information System. This may occur in crashes where deliberate intent is uncovered or the injury severity is downgraded and the database is updated to reflect this.
