(a) The future use of the Deanmill Primary School was investigated by the Department of Education and Training (DET) and after investigating a number of options recommended to the Department for Planning and Infrastructure (DPI) that the MAC proposal be supported.
(b) DET in considering other options, was advised by the former timber mill operator that neither it nor the community were interested in the site.
(c) This was one consideration given by DET in 1999 but not favoured and therefore was not referred to the then Department of Land Administration now DPI.
(d) DET continued to consider options for the site culminating in support for the MAC proposal.
(e) There are a range of views within the community on this issue.
