(1) No.
(2) For courses deferred until 2009 and requiring a significant re-write (ie Geography, Music, Literature, Biology, Business Management and Enterprise, Integrated Science and Accounting and Finance), course reference groups are being established to guide the revision. Jury members will be invited to join these reference groups.
For all other courses deferred until 2009 all teachers, including jury members, will be asked to validate any course revisions and endorse their course for accreditation.
(3) None, once all grade descriptors are available.
(4) No. Grade descriptors are available for Year 11 courses in six of the eight courses being implemented. Refinements will continue to be made to these grade descriptors based on empirical analysis, assessment item analysis and teacher consensus.
(5)(a) The Curriculum Council has had difficulty filling project officer positions for Aviation and Physical Education Studies. However teacher experts have been employed on a contract basis to develop grade descriptors for Aviation and Physical Education Studies. In the interim, teachers have been supported in their grading activities by grading support consensus meetings and have been provided with advice on the relationship of levels and bands to A - E grades.
(5)(b) It is anticipated that grade descriptors for Aviation and Physical Education Studies will be available to schools by the end of August.
