484. Hon SAMANTHA ROWE to the
parliamentary secretary representing the Minister for Health:
I refer to patients in the Swan District Hospital—SDH—maternity
services' catchment area, whose care has been transferred to Osborne
Park Hospital.
(1) Are women
who are already beyond 19 weeks' pregnant being given the option of
continuing their antenatal care and delivery at SDH, given their due date will
be before to the closure of SDH?
(2) What measures
are being taken to ensure continuity of care for existing maternity patients
whose care is being transferred to Osborne Park Hospital?
(3) Will any
maternity patients in the Swan District Hospital catchment area be offered fuel
vouchers or similar travel assistance in recognition that some parts of the
catchment area are well in excess of an hour's travel time from Osborne
Park Hospital?
(4) What
additional resources and staffing, if any, is being provided to Osborne Park
Hospital to cope with the extra demand on their maternity services caused by
