(4) If yes to (3), how many? (5) Why did the Government not advise drivers that different road rules apply to the area of the trial?

(1) No.
(2) Results will be made public late 2014.
(3)-(4) Main Roads is not aware of any related vehicle crashes since the implementation of the new line marking on 15 April 2014. However this will be verified at the end of the trial. There is a 3-6 month lag for the statistics due to the nature of crash reporting.
(5) The on-ramp line marking trial involves three north bound on-ramps on Kwinana Freeway at Russell Road, Beeliar Drive and Berrigan Drive. Each on-ramp has additional signs to alert drivers that road conditions have changed. An education campaign will be part of the communication strategy which will be deployed if the new line markings are adopted as standard practice.
