SOUND — FISH STOCK LOSSES
1409. Hon RICK MAZZA to the
Minister for Fisheries:
Given the Department of Fisheries has advised that the first
reported evidence of a fish kill event in Cockburn Sound was made to FishWatch by a member of the public on 19 November 2015 at
6.48 am —
(1) What was the reaction time for the Department of Fisheries
to respond to the report?
(2) Was there
any delay in the Department of Fisheries response time, and would that have
impacted the effectiveness of the forensic testing of fish and water samples?
(3) What are the post-mortem results; and, if there are no
post-mortem results, why not?
(4) What species have been identified as affected?
(5) What are the possible ramifications of human consumption
of the affected fish?
